Finally my scale has started to head back in the right direction. Three days in a row the scale read a pound lower than the previous day. Thank God. Negative Nelly was getting the better of me. I've worked hard to loose the weight and I've got 20lbs more to go.
Last week, I looked back at pictures of me from a year ago. Those size 14 pants were tight. Since then I've run six 5k's, trained for and run a half-marathon, am training for another half and spent countless hours playing with crazy maniac girls to loose 35lbs.
I know that it's normal to have setbacks but I'm very hard on myself. I've never been able to give myself slack for mistakes. But the weight isn't going to come off with negative thinking and berating myself. Hard work and eating right, that's all there is.
As of yesterday, I have six weeks until my race. I'm not nervous, at all. In fact, I'm exited. Saturday, Rachel (a girl I met thru Team In Training) and I ran 11mi. It was some of the best running I've done in along time. On a regular basis, I'm amazed that I run long distances. If you knew how unathletic and uncoordinated I am, you'd be surprised too. Except that most of you are runners too and you know that anyone can do this.
Anyone. All it takes is determination.

You have come a long way. You should be so proud!!
AMazing! Congrats.. I love the feeling after a GREAT long run.
Love you page, you have had a Blog makeover since last I stopped by.
I love this post! Way to go on the 11 miler and the positive (or should that be negative?) scale progress. I tend to get negative too when results are slow. That stupid scale is definitely not my friend!
About a year ago I had my first 11 mile run and it was fabulous. Then the injury train started but reading this helps me see I'll get it back!
You can do it!! Glad to hear the scale is heading in the right direction now! Dillon's theme is pirates. We tried to do Phineas and Ferb but there is not enough stuff out there!
Awesome job on the running and weight loss!!!! And...love the new blog design...as always...Kritty did a GREAT job!!! Go Saints!!!!
You have come so far and are doing awesome! Don't you just love those long runs that feel good.
"If you knew how unathletic and uncoordinated I am, you'd be surprised too" I couldn't have said it better myself about me:)
Yes, I signed on as a Mentor. Team in Training has changed my life and I can't imagine stopping now! My mentor was awesome and I want to do that for others. If your interested its definitely worth looking into, and if you want to train for an event while mentoring you get 25% off your minimum =)
